Santa Run 5K/1 Mile Walk and Kids Fun Run

Guess who's coming to town? It’s our RCRC Santa Run 5K/ 1 Mile Walk Race and Kids Fun Run at Garners Ferry Sports Complex. The event will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 8:30 am-11:30 am. Participants have the option to bring their furry friends during the walk and, dress as their favorite holiday character while still practicing DHEC & CDC safety measures.

Cost of the 5K Race, Walk and Kids Fun Run for ages 4-12 will be $15 per person and for ages 13 and up the fee will be $25 per person. Late registration fee of $5 will be assessed after November 30, 2022. All participants registered for the event will receive a t-shirt, a goodie bag and for our furry friends a special memento. We ask all pet owners participating in the event to bring proof of their furry friend being registered and a signed waiver.

All runners will receive a bib and have their race times recorded and photographed with the option of purchasing their finisher photos. All winners will be announced at the conclusion of the race and include top 3 males and females from each age category and overall 5K male and female finisher of the race. Winners from each age category will receive either a Finisher medal (for first time medal holders) and/or a race charm. Early Registration Price: $15 for ages 4-12; $25 for ages 13 and up
Late Registration Price: $20 for ages 4-12; $30 for ages 13 and up
Day of Race Price: $20 for ages 4-12; $30 for ages 13 and up

5K Awards:
Overall Top Male and Female Finisher will receive a prize
Top 3 Male and Female in each Age Group

All age categories 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39,40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over

Shirts:T-shirts are included with your swag bag upon registering for the Santa Run 5K/1 Mile Walk/Kids Fun Run.

8:35 am- Santa’s Walkers & Furry Friend Reindeers Begin
9:40 am-10:00-Announcing Award Winners of top 3 Males and Females from each age category and Overall Santa Run 5K Top Male and Female Finishers

Event special notes:

• Strollers are welcome and participants can listen to music while running or walking turning the Santa Run event. Participants have the option to bring their furry friends during the walk but must bring proof of their furry friend being registered and signed a waiver.
• Parking: Parking will be available at the Sports Complex lot on a first come basis. The parking lot will be temporarily closed from 8:20 am-9:45 am due to our 5K participants running through the course. We ask all participants to not leave the event until all our 5K participants have completed the race. give
• Event tables: Our registration area, information table, snack table and restrooms will be located inside the Garners Ferry Sports Complex along with assistance by our Richland County Recreation Commission Staff if you have any questions.
• The 5K Course and Kids Fun Run and Walk will be marked with directional signage with mile markers throughout the course. Parts of the course will have upgrades, hills and partial dirt passages through the grass. Start and Finish Lines will be at the same location.
